Bio
Mariana Marinato (1997) is a visual artist and muralist from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, where she lives and works. She uses painting as her central language, also articulating graphic and object-based practices. Her research investigates the tensions between body, time, memory, and technology, traversing everyday images, the residues of consumption, and the silent violence of progress. Between the city and the countryside, excessive exposure and silence, she constructs a poetic archaeology of matter, where value, identity, and image reveal themselves as fragile threads between the visible and the elusive. Her work is also intertwined with experiences in urban painting, which incorporate reflections and experiences gathered in public spaces into her studio. Mariana holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Escola Livre de Arte - Arena da Cultura (2016-2018) and is currently studying Fine Arts at the Guignard School - Universidade Estadual de Minas Gerais.
